1. Zirconium dichloride phenol complex was generated by zirconium (IV) chloride and tetrahydro-1-indenol
2. react tetrahydro-1-indenol with 1,3-butadiene to generate tetrahydro-1-indenylcyclobutene
3. react tetrahydro-1-indenylcyclobutene and ethyl acetate in the presence of hydrogen chloride to produce rac-ethylene bis (4,5, 6,7-tetrahydro-1-indenyl)] zirconium dichloride (IV)
